Ugliest Airplane

Beauty is a personal thing. But somethings are so... ummm.... Utterly Ugly that no one could argue about the issue. Of course, we expect that many of you will argue anyways!

After a few photos have been collected, we'll start a voting process, as well as "feature" the worst of the worst. Now, some of you drive Luscombes, and some of you drive Tri Pacers; the webmaster has owned both and knows that this section of the site is a rumble in the making.

Soooo.... Let's rumble!

Shorts Skyvan 3 Variant100 (SC-7) is, without a doubt, the ugliest plane ever. Who's idea was it to glue wings on a shoebox? James 8/29/2001 View
It's a Wilga,looks like a polish attempt at building a Disney animatronic insect . KARL 7/7/2001 View

Boeing successfully cleared the last ground-test hurdle for flight certification of its Joint Strike Fighter X-32B concept demonstrator on March 23, 2001. The next major official milestone for the X-32B will be high-speed taxi tests, followed shortly thereafter by its first flight to Edwards Air Force Base, Calif. Looks like it won't fly -- the earth will repel it! Mike Culver 3/25/2001 View
Not really ugly, but just what catageory? This Tacit Blue is on display at Wright-Patterson Airfoce Museum. David Stephenson 12/17/2000 View
It has all the right things, round engines, a tail wheel, and is American made, but just thrown together in true military fashion. It is currently on static display at Wright-Patterson Airforce Museum, Dayton, Ohio David Stephenson 12/16/2000 View
Straight from the front page of the www.shortwing.org website. A tri-colt . Gerry Byrnes 8/7/2000 View
It just is. Although Britain has brought forth planes of immense beauty (Concorde, the Avro Vulcan, the Europa series of homebuilts, the Hawker Hunter), the Fairey Gannet is probably the ugliest plane in existence. It's even uglier than the Super Guppy. The Gannet is however a very interesting aircraft. See http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk for more information. Dylan Smith 7/25/2000 View
